For example, while organizations are streaming a live event as it occurs, FileCatalyst software is able to transfer the video content to various users while the file is being created. FileCatalyst can achieve what is known as “chasing the tail,” which means that as the file is created (i.e., as recording is in progress), FileCatalyst is able to share that data for the purposes of modification or publishing. Think of a live stream as a file that grows in real time with the broadcast.With each new second of footage, the file that encapsulates the event grows with it.  

As that file grows, FileCatalyst is able to transfer each new additional subset of data to chosen recipients. This is how FileCatalyst can “chase the tail.” In this case, the end of each file is the “tail” and each new addition to the file (as it is recorded and streamed) becomes the new “tail.” That new data can immediately be appended to the end of the file and transferred to the intended recipient modification or publishing for internal use. 

A Unique Media File Transfer Process for Receiving Hi-Res Live Event Data 

The process that FileCatalyst uses to execute this task will continue until the file stops growing (for instances, when, the event ends). This is perfect for live events.
