Broadcast and Media Transmissions Need Secure Accelerated File Transfers
Media and entertainment organizations work with many types of data, from breaking news on-site to entertainment broadcasts, to transferring unwieldly large files around the world in real time. The size and complexity of these files has grown exponentially over time, to satisfy the needs of consumers for film studios, media agencies, and broadcasting companies to securely deliver high-def imagery in a split second.
Media Transfers Done Securely, Reliably and Quickly
Fortra’s GoAnywhere MFT meets the demands of media and entertainment entities by:
- Streamlining the file transfer process
- Accelerating how quickly files are transferred
- Automating critical file transfer steps to help eliminate human error and inefficiencies
- Delivering a browser-based user experience that makes it easy to learn and use
No matter the file size, end-point locations, path, device, network system, or encryption need, GoAnywhere can get your broadcast files on the air and in front of your viewers.

Speed Matters: GoFast Gets Media Files to Your Destination Quickly
GoFast is an accelerated file transfer solution powered by Fortra’s FileCatalyst technology that is built into GoAnywhere to streamline and accelerate media and broadcast files from wherever in the world they are being sent from and to their ultimate destination.
How Does GoAnywhere Speed Up File Transfers?
The GoFast solution within GoAnywhere can transfer data substantially faster than with traditional FTP Methods. This file acceleration solution quickly transits data via lightweight UDP (User Datagram Protocol) channels to broadcast data packets between client and server. Specifically, it does so by establishing SSL/TLS control channels over TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) between the server and client. This control channel can be authenticated with user credentials as well as client and server certificates. After authentication, commands are sent over the control channel to indicate transmission details such as file names and sizes, encryption ciphers, and compression settings.
Then files are broken up into digestible parts and transferred over these UDP data channels operating between the GoFast client and servers. For broadcast and media transfers, it’s important to note that part sizes can be adjusted to optimize file transfer speeds based on network reliability – an advantage when sending files over remote or unstable networks.
Files are then broken into multiple parts and transferred over UDP data channels, then the file parts are automatically reassembled at the destination and saved to the designated folder locations. GoFast delivers:
- Guaranteed file transmission
- File integrity
- Automated Workflow ease
- AES encryption to protect data packets
