During their discussion, they look at the deliver files to an endpoint within a media asset management system and how FileCatalyst is used within the Imagen MAM solution to accelerate transfers throughout various points in the workflow.
What & How
Cambridge Imaging Systems is the creator of the award-winning Imagen, which can be used as a complete MAM system. While it’s a powerful MAM (Media Asset Management) platform, users can sometimes be challenged when trying to upload or download media assets from the Imagen server when working with content from various sources spreading great distances.
FileCatalyst’s integration into Imagen gives users the option to either upload content by simply dragging and dropping a media file into a folder monitored by FileCatalyst HotFolder, or to connect directly into Imagen using FileCatalyst Express and drop files manually. Once content arrives on the Imagen server, it’s set up to automatically ingest video, image, audio, or XML files and create proxies with basic metadata records. FileCatalyst is present on both the client and server side where Imagen is installed. This provides a superior file transfer experience for users that includes desktop and/or web-based remote administration.
