Summary
In this webinar, FileCatalyst’s Director of Strategic Partnerships & Cloud Services Elton Carneiro and Co-Founder of Lesspain Software Robert Krüger sat down together to announce the integration of FileCatalyst’s fast file transfer technology into Lesspain Software’s Media Asset Management (MAM) system, Kyno.
Organizations working with large numbers of media assets, usually in multiple formats, are faced with the challenge of organizing this data effectively and extracting it efficiently when used for projects. Creating folder structures to organize these assets is one way of managing the data, but it can become complex and time-consuming. This webinar explains how the FileCatalyst Kyno plugin adds the ability to define elaborate acceptance rules for folders being monitored by FileCatalyst HotFolder, making powerful metadata extraction readily available.
What & How
With the FileCatalyst plugin for Kyno, operators can use criteria like video/audio codec, frame rate, scan type (interlaced/progressive), bitrate, resolution, duration, number of audio tracks and other technical metadata to define filter rules. These rules can be constructed using a powerful yet simple-to-use query language that includes range queries and boolean logic.
In addition to technical metadata, the plugin also understands all of Kyno’s descriptive metadata, meaning that filter rules can combine technical metadata with metadata that has been added during review or ingest. This combination allows organizations to implement elaborate ingest and transfer workflows in a very pragmatic and cost-effective way.\
